No-sugar peppermint hot chocolate recipe

Peppermint Low Sugar Hot Chocolate

  • Author: Laura Villanueva
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cup 1x

Description

There’s just something comforting and warms the soul to have a delicious mug of low sugar hot chocolate while it’s cold outside. Peppermint and chocolate are my two favorite flavor combinations during the holiday season. This is perfect to drink while you decorate the tree with your family.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 date, pitted
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint stevia

Optional toppings:

  • Sugar-free marshmallows
  • Sugar-free candy canes
  • Sugar-free whipped cream

Instructions

1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until everything is smooth. If using a Vitamix blender, blend until the mixture becomes hot. Then serve.

2. If using a regular blender, transfer the mixture to a small pot and warm the mixture on the stove until it reaches your desired temperature. Serve.

3. Top with any of the above optional toppings.

Notes

Try topping this low sugar hot chocolate recipe with my homemade gut-healthy peppermint marshmallows
