This Blueberry Flax Smoothie is Great for Balancing Hormones

I love how this hormone-balancing smoothie recipe is such an easy way for you to get in the proper nutrients at the beginning of your day. I love smoothie bowls in the morning for breakfast for so many reasons.

This hormone-balancing blueberry smoothie bowl recipe takes almost no time to prepare. You can top them with so many different superfoods to enrich the vitamin and mineral content. If you add in healthy fats, smoothie bowls can help to keep you full for hours. This is especially great if you have a busy morning filled with meetings until lunchtime. This blueberry flax smoothie has been on my lunch menu several times a week.

A tightly arranged grouping of carbs, proteins, and antioxidants can help you to get your day started off properly, and give you energy throughout the entire day. You also have so many choices which means your smoothie bowls are never a boring option. Smoothie bowls help satisfy those sugar cravings to crowd out traditional sugary desserts. I actually prefer this blueberry smoothie recipe over any carb-heavy dessert. I know that I am nourishing my body and it tastes great too.

This Hormone Balancing Smoothie Recipe is a Great Way to Give Your Body Antioxidants

Blueberries are a wonderful way to help lower cholesterol. High cholesterol is fairly common among adults these days, but berries of all types can greatly help to improve your cholesterol levels. Studies have shown that ingesting berries regularly can make a significant impact on the amount of cholesterol that accumulates in your blood. In addition, they are also full of fiber, which is also good for your digestive tract. You can learn much about blueberries here.

Cacao Is Not Heavily Processed Like Most Chocolate

Cacao is one of the great superfoods. However, cacao is not heavily processed like most chocolate, which is why it retains so many of its nutrients. It is well known for its extremely high amount of antioxidants, and its ability to energize anyone who eats it. Antioxidants also fight off free radicals that can cause cancer or permanent damage to your cells.

Hemp seeds are widely known for their high protein content, which helps the body to metabolize fats more efficiently and other useful building blocks of your cells. This is just one of the many reasons I love to add hemp seeds to this blueberry flax smoothie.

Flaxseeds are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are amazing anti-inflammatory agents. . One of the wonderful beauty benefits of flaxseed is that eating them helps to reduce inflammation within the body due to the omega-3s, especially alpha-linolenic acid, which converts to eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which is a collagen-boosting and fat-burning omega-3.

Flax is also extremely high in fiber to support proper healthy elimination. Proteins found in flaxseed help to repair skin damage caused by breakouts and clogged pores. By including omega-3s in the diet, you can see a decrease in hormones that typically lead to skin breakouts. Eczema produces dry, flaky skin that can be soothed by the omega-3s found in flax.

The omegas are also great to nourish your hair and scalp. Key nutrients found in flaxseeds are omega-3, vitamin B1, phosphorus, selenium, and manganese. The combination of fiber and omega-3s from the flax seeds helps the body get rid of excess hormones. If you want to bring balance to your hormonal health, this is the smoothie for you. A really great organic ground flaxseed that I recommend is Spectrum Essentials Organic ground premium flaxseed. It is not only organic but economical. I can usually purchase a 24-ounce bag for under $8.

Blueberries are especially good for maintaining eye health because they are a rich source of antioxidants, lutein, and anthocyanins, which will help with circulation to the eyes and protect the delicate blood vessels surrounding the eye area. Anthocyanins will help to boost the elasticity and decrease the sagging of connective tissue. If you want bright sparkling eyes with decreased shadows then blueberries are your jam. Research has also shown by incorporating blueberries into your diet, you can help to decrease insulin resistance, which may result in helping to lower fat storage in your body.
