It all started with a celiac disease diagnosis, and my obsession with gut health nutrition began.

My journey began early on,  starting with my food intolerances. I started Eat Your Nutrition in 2019, as a place to share my nutrition and wellness knowledge to help others nourish their bodies through food and lifestyle changes.

I’m a gut health nutritionist for frustrated women who struggle with sensitive digestive issues and want sustainable results to help restore their gut health. I help them find consistency when it comes to meals, with quick and easy no-brainer recipes and gut, skin, and hormone health nutrition tips to live a gut-friendly lifestyle.

Let me tell you a story...

I started Eat Your Nutrition in 2019, as a place to share my nutrition and wellness knowledge to help others nourish their bodies through food and lifestyle changes.

My nutrition journey began way back when in my early high school days. I suffered from many food intolerances, low energy, anemia, and was underweight. There was no clear known reason at the time.  

Hitting rock bottom transformed me!

THEN I HIT THIS REALLY PIVOTAL MOMENT WHERE I LEARNED HOW TO HEAL MY OWN  BODY THROUGH THE POWER OF FOOD

Flash forward a few years later in my early twenties, where I met a wonderful doctor who took note of my symptoms and ran several tests that led to my celiac disease diagnosis

I discovered that I along with my food allergies, also had endometriosis, another autoimmune disease. I immersed myself in the world of health and wellness as a way to heal my own body. While on this personal wellness journey, I discovered my love for nutrition science

That was the exact moment it all changed for me. When I started owning my own health story...

I received my bachelor's degree in nutrition science. From there, I continued my studies, where I completed several certifications in gut health nutrition, holistic nutrition, sports nutrition, weight management specialist, nutrition & wellness consultant, and health & wellness coaching.

In 2020, I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to strengthen her coaching skills. I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between. 

I use my own journey, together with my experience as a holistic gut health nutritionist, to explain how others can heal their bodies through proper nutrition and the incorporation of wellness techniques. My refreshing new approach to nutrition and healthy living has inspired many to make positive healthy lifestyle changes.

This holistic health blog is the place to be if you seek to live a healthy and natural lifestyle. My goal with this holistic wellness website is to help others understand that a healthy holistic living way of life doesn't have to be restrictive. You can enjoy delicious food recipes with a holistic new spin on healthy eating and nutrition.

Calories are made up of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, sugar, etc. I found that a higher intake of greens meant I was getting more of the good stuff.

Once I realized this, eating healthy became something I desired. I no longer felt like I was depriving myself of food or enforcing extreme calorie restrictions on my body.

My love for holistic nutrition began here!

In a short period of time, I went from feeling like I’d never get my health back on track, to a body that had never been in better shape.

By receiving my bachelor's degree in nutrition science, I learned about healthy eating and how it can help anyone achieve a life of happiness, high energy levels, and the opportunity to enjoy many, many more years.

As a certified holistic nutritionist, I have an immense drive and wealth of knowledge to share with you and help you achieve your health goals!

In addition to bringing you comprehensive nutritional information and resources based on science and medically proven research, I also have the personal experience to guide you and support you as you work to reach your health goals and reclaim your life!

Nutrition science is constantly changing based on current research. We go through the current research, so you can focus on eating nutrient-dense meals and discover how to listen to your internal hunger cues. 

  1. Nutrition science is constantly changing based on current research, which leads to new recommendations. However, there are basic nutrition principles that remain the same. Nutrition professionals’ practices change and evolve as new emerging research develops. We go through the current research, so you can focus on eating nutrient-dense recipes while eating to nourish your body correctly. 
  2. Focus on including healthy, nutrient-dense foods, rather than restricting high caloric, low-nutrient-dense foods. If you provide your body with the proper nutrients, you are less likely to crave processed, unhealthy foods.
  3. Eat a diverse diet. Try to eat the rainbow of colorful foods. Each produce color provides the body with different phytonutrients. Green produce provides the body with iron, magnesium, and chlorophyll. By eating the rainbow, you know you are giving your body a wide range of vitamins and minerals.
  4. Eat more plants and plant-based meals. Plant protein can provide the body with amazing health benefits. Eating plant-based can help lower the risk of chronic diseases. Replacing a few meals a week with more plant-based choices can help lower cholesterol and blood pressure numbers. Remember, strive for progress, not perfection.
  5. Make balanced food choices. It is essential to include foods from all macronutrients. Carbohydrates are not the enemy. We need carbs to fuel our bodies and, in particular, our brain. Eating the correct carbohydrates will provide the body with sustained energy to get through the tasks of the day.
  6. Strive for a healthy lifestyle, which is more sustainable than a restrictive diet plan. You can learn to tune in to your body's internal hunger cues and figure out how to eat intuitively.
  7. Always choose progress over perfection. Each meal is a fresh start to include nutrient-dense healing foods. The phrase "let food be thy medicine" is powerful. Food choices can help reverse and prevent some chronic diseases. Nourishing one's body with delicious nutrient-dense foods can not only make you feel amazing, but also your health and well-being all benefit.
  8. Recipes are created with nutritional science research in mind. Vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients are key when formulating a new recipe. You may see many recipes that include adaptogens. Adaptogenic herbs help the body cope with lifestyle stressors, and I love to create new recipes that incorporate various adaptogens. They provide good stress support. Adaptogens work by helping regulate the adrenal system of the body. They can boost your energy levels, improve your immune system, and deal with everyday stress better.
  9. Remain positive in your wellness journey. Gain support from close family members and friends that encourage your journey.

Deconstructing Cravings

Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.

Crowding Out

Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you along the way.

The concept of Bio-Individuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run.
