Health and Beauty Benefits of Carrots

Carrots are one of my favorite vegetables. There are so many amazing health and beauty benefits of carrots. In addition, there are particular health benefits of eating raw carrots. Let’s dive into this topic. Vitamin A is known as being one of the most essential beauty vitamins. Carrots are one of the best vegetables that contain beta-carotene, which the body then converts to vitamin A.

Vitamin A helps keep your skin, hair, nails, and eyes bright and beautiful. Carotenoids are shown to lower the adverse effects of UV rays. They are phytonutrients and act as an antioxidant. Antioxidants can protect against free radicals.

Carrots also contain biotin. Biotin is a nutrient responsible for healthy hair and nail growth. Another beauty benefit of carrots is they can help regulate oil production in the skin. Carrots are also high in calcium and phosphorus, both help in strengthening the nails.

Eating carrots can help strengthen your immune system by helping your cells grow. In addition, carrots are important to help digestion issues including constipation. The fiber will help promote regular bowel movements.

Carrot Eating Suggestions

Aim to eat one carrot daily. Try adding raw carrot to your salads or smoothies. Try my recipe for bugs bunny immune-boosting smoothie. Children go crazy for bugs bunny vitamins and when you tell them the name of this smoothie, they will enjoy it.

Carrot juice with a bit of fresh ginger is also a delicious way to consume carrots. For instance, try drinking fresh carrot juice or add a carrot into your smoothie for those beautifying health benefits. Don’t toss away the green leafy tops of carrots because they are filled with nutrients. I personally like to sauté them with a bit of olive oil and fresh garlic for an easy, delicious side dish.

If you lightly steam the carrots it will deliver more skin-boosting benefits. However, there are benefits of eating raw carrots which will provide the body with soluble fiber. In addition, can help lower blood sugar levels by slowing your digestion of carbohydrates. The fiber will also feed the friendly bacteria in your gut. Rotating out how you eat your fruits and vegetables, raw or cooked is beneficial to your health.

Try experimenting with different colored carrots to get various flavonoids, polyphenols, and carotenoids. For example, they all have varying antioxidant properties, as well as anti-inflammatory benefits. I wrote a wonderful article all about, antioxidants and how do they work?
