Whether it’s the new year or simply because you decided to get healthy, it’s always the perfect time to start creating healthy habits. Try to incorporate one of these healthy habits for living into your daily routine, and before you know it, you will have established one new habit. I am sharing my secret healthy habits to start creating today with everyone. Let’s start creating healthy living habits to last a lifetime.
You don’t have to wait for the new year to start practicing healthy living habits, begin today, right where you are.
Healthy Wellness Habits for Life
Here are some wellness habits that you should begin for a long, healthy life.
Move Your Body at Least Once a Day!
Feel-good endorphins are released when we exercise. Exercise can simply be a stroll before or after dinner.
It doesn’t have to be an hour-long sweat session to gain the benefits of daily movement. If you are moving once a day, your body will thank you.
This healthy habit will have you feeling astounding in no time. You will never regret a workout. 10 minutes of strolling towards the park and 10 minutes back home are all it takes to get in a quick 20-minute walk.
Consider walking with a friend, because accountability is the #1 thing to help you reach your health and weight loss goals.
Drink More Water
This one has been said so many times before, but is still significant. Oftentimes, we are dehydrated and don’t know it until we get that thirst response. When we are thirsty, our bodies are already dehydrated.
The key is to hydrate throughout the day. Aim for 8 glasses of water a day. First thing in the morning, have a tall glass of water before breakfast.
Consider my easy peach ginger-infused water.
In addition, you can try adding more hydrating foods into your diet. A few to try are cucumbers, iceberg lettuce, and watermelon.

Eat Greens With Every Meal
Our bodies crave micronutrients so that we can build new cells. One simple way is to add greens to your morning smoothie.
Try adding in a handful of spinach or zucchini. Yes, I said zucchini. You won’t even taste it, I promise.
Zucchini not only adds beneficial vitamins and fiber, but also gives your smoothie a creaminess like bananas. This is excellent for those who can’t tolerate bananas in their smoothies, or even cut down on the sugar from the bananas. Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated.
Dry Brushing
I love dry brushing. Dry brushing helps exfoliate the skin, but also stimulates the lymphatic system to detoxify the body.
As a bonus, it may help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Set Up a Daily Mindful Practice
This can either be through meditation, journaling, or even yoga. This practice can help lower stress and unwind. You can set your intentions for the day if you do this in the morning.
In the evening, you can think about all that you are grateful for in the past day.
There are two main apps that I love to use in my mindful practice. The calm app is excellent for meditation or before bedtime. I love the “sleep stories”, which always help me drift to sleep faster.
The Headspace app is another one of my favorites. This one, in particular, helps with mindfulness. I love how the app helps you focus on your breathing to relieve anxiety and stress.
