This pudding recipe is perfect for an after workout snack or even an evening dessert. I was inspired to make this chocolate pudding recipe after making my raw cacao chocolate milkshake recipe.

If you don't know this already, pudding is a tasty thick, sweet dessert that is typically made with milk, sugar, and cornstarch.

However, this version is taken to a whole new level of healthy with natural sweetener from the dates, which also provide the body with vitamins and minerals.

Instead of the cornstarch, I used a mixture of raw cacao powder and protein powder. This bumps up the protein content, as well as adds more vitamins and minerals from the raw cacao powder.

As always, I modify traditional recipes to add more beneficial nutritional content to recreate a healthier version. This easy pudding recipe from scratch is a favorite in my household and made several times a month.

Some star ingredients in this dessert pudding recipe include raw cacao powder, protein powder, and Medjool dates.

In addition, this pudding recipe is also made with almond milk, which makes it a dairy-free recipe perfect for individuals following a dairy-free diet.

Raw Cacao Powder

Raw cacao powder is an ingredient full of antioxidants and helps protect against free radicals.

This super food powder also contains phenethylamine. Which is known for increasing your happy hormones, the secretion of endorphins, within the body.

Raw cacao powder is also an excellent source of magnesium. Did you know that if you typically suffer from constipation, this could indicate you might be low on magnesium?

First, blend the milk, dates, cacao powder, peanut butter, and cinnamon through the blender until smooth.

Then in a small sauce pan, boil the mixture for 5 minutes. Next, add the protein powder, boil it until it thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.

Divide the pudding into the serving cups. This pudding can be served warm or cold.

Then let the chocolate pudding rest at room temperature until cool. Finally, transfer to the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Serve as is or add some optional toppings
