🥣 Ingredients for the Ultimate Guacamole
To create a guacamole that's both rich and flavorful, you'll need the following ingredients.
- Avocados - Choose ripe avocados that are firm, but yield slightly to gentle pressure. Overripe avocados can make the guacamole too mushy, while underripe ones can be too hard.
- Fresh Parsley - Parsley complements cilantro and adds a subtle, slightly peppery flavor.
- Fresh Garlic - Garlic adds a pungent and savory depth that complements the creamy avocados.
- Lime Juice - Fresh lime juice not only adds a zesty kick, but also helps prevent the avocados from browning.
- Red Onion - Red onion provides a crisp and slightly sweet crunch.
- Jalapeño Pepper - For those who enjoy a little heat, jalapeño adds a subtle spice without overwhelming the dish.
- Roma Tomato - Roma tomatoes are less watery than other varieties, adding flavor without making the guacamole runny.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil - This ingredient adds richness and a smooth texture to the guacamole.
- Sea Salt - Sea salt enhances the natural flavors of the ingredients.
- Fresh Cilantro - Cilantro brings a fresh, herbaceous note that brightens up the guacamole.

👩🍳 Instructions to Make Flavor-Filled Guacamole
Follow these simple steps to create an easy guacamole that's packed with flavor and perfect for any occasion:
🥑 Prepare the Avocados
Start by cutting the avocados in half lengthwise. Remove the pit and scoop the flesh into a small mixing bowl. Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired consistency. Some people prefer a chunky texture, while others like it smoother.
🧄 Add the Garlic and Lime Juice
Incorporate the minced garlic and lime juice into the mashed avocado. The garlic will infuse a robust flavor, while the lime juice will add a tangy kick and help keep the guacamole from turning brown.
🍅 Mix in the Vegetables
Add the finely chopped red onion, jalapeño pepper, and Roma tomato to the bowl. Mix gently to combine all the ingredients. The red onion will add crunch, the jalapeño will provide a touch of heat, and the tomato will bring in a fresh juiciness.
🫒 Incorporate Olive Oil
Drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil. This will enhance the creamy texture of the guacamole and add a subtle richness.
🧂 Season to Taste
Sprinkle the sea salt over the mixture. Stir well to ensure the salt is evenly distributed. Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You may want to add more lime juice or salt, depending on your preference.
🌿 Add Fresh Herbs
Finally, fold in the chopped cilantro and parsley. These herbs will introduce an additional layer of freshness and complexity to the guacamole.
🌮 Serve and Enjoy
Next transfer your guacamole to a serving bowl. It's best enjoyed immediately with fresh veggies, tortilla chips, or as a topping for tacos and burritos. If you're not serving it right away, cover the guacamole tightly with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to minimize browning.
🥑 Health Benefits of Guacamole
Guacamole isn't just delicious, it's also packed with health benefits. Here's why it's a great choice for a snack or meal.
- Rich in Healthy Fats - Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated fats, which are heart-healthy and can help lower bad cholesterol levels.
- Nutrient-Dense - The ingredients in guacamole provide a range of vitamins and minerals. For instance, avocados are high in potassium, while tomatoes and cilantro offer antioxidants.
- Low in Calories - Guacamole can be a low-calorie option when enjoyed with fresh veggies instead of chips.

⭐️ Laura's Best Tip
After your avocados ripen, store them in the refrigerator until ready to use them. This helps prevent them from over-ripening before you can use them. Can't waste those avocados! 🥑
🥑 Tips for Perfect Guacamole Dip
- Use Ripe Avocados - The key to creamy guacamole is using ripe avocados. They should give slightly when pressed. If they're too hard, let them ripen at room temperature for a few days before use.
- Adjust Spice Level - If you prefer a milder guacamole, you can omit the jalapeño or use a milder chili pepper. Conversely, for extra heat, add more jalapeño or even a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Add Variations - Feel free to customize your guacamole with additional ingredients like diced mango for a sweet twist or crumbled feta for a tangy touch.
Pro Nutrition Tip
Avocado isn't just delicious, it's a powerhouse for gut and hormone health! Loaded with monounsaturated fats, avocados help support balanced hormone production and reduce inflammation.
Their fiber content feeds beneficial gut bacteria, promoting a thriving microbiome for better digestion and overall wellness. For an extra nutritional boost, try pairing your guacamole with a colorful assortment of raw veggies to add more antioxidants and fiber to your meal.

- Hate Cilantro - Use more fresh parsley instead.

❄️ Storage For Ultimate Flavor Filled Guacamole Recipe
Best when fresh. However, store this with plastic wrap placed directly over the surface area of the guacamole to prevent air from oxidizing and turning it a brown color. Best to use within 24 hours.
🥘 Meal Prep Tips
- Pre-Prep Avocados - Scoop and mash avocados with extra lime juice to help prevent browning, then store in an airtight container if not mixing immediately.
- Chop Fresh Ingredients - Dice tomatoes, onions, garlic, and cilantro ahead of time and store each in small, airtight containers to maintain optimal freshness.
- Assemble Just Before Serving - For the best flavor and vibrant color, mix the prepped ingredients with the mashed avocado right before eating.
- Layer for Storage - If you need to make the guacamole ahead, layer it in an airtight container and press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to minimize air exposure.
- Portion for Convenience - Divide the guacamole into individual servings for easy grab-and-go meals or snacks, pairing with fresh veggies or gluten-free crackers.
- Label & Date - Clearly mark containers with the recipe name and preparation date to ensure you enjoy the guacamole at its peak freshness.
🤔 FAQ - Common Questions
These FAQs should help address any common concerns or questions you may have about making this best guacamole recipe.
🥑 How to Tell If An Avocado Is Ripe?
Ripe avocados are firm, but yield slightly to gentle pressure. Overripe avocados can make the guacamole too mushy, while underripe ones can be too hard.
⏰ How Far In Advance Can I Prepare This?
I would recommend only making this 24 hours in advance. The longer the avocados are exposed to air, the more oxidized it will become. Store with plastic wrap directly over the top of the guacamole.
